Orange 5pce drum kit; 70s vintage, African mahogany
This is 1 of only 3 Orange drum kits known to be in Oz.
This is a very collectable kit made by Jaques Capelle in France in the 70s.
As you can see they have a distinctive style unlike most other kits from this era.
The drums are finished in a very cool silver wrap with internal dampers fitted for easy dampening of the tone and volume.
Edges are full round over on all drums, a la Gretsch round badge era which gives them an even warmer, fatter vintage sound.
As you would expect from 50 year old drums, there are some minor scratches or marks on some of the shells which should not spoil your playing pleasure.
Very punchy warm dark tone.
The bass drum sounds especially awesome.
This kit is in excellent condition for its age.
I found another Orange 5 pce shell pack (no hardware) listed (and ended) on Reverb for $3,163.73 AUD plus shipping.
