Premier 1968 vintage 2000 series 14 x 5.5″ thin birch shell snare drum

 

The very popular Premier thin birch 3-ply shell gives this an amazing tone and clarity due to the ingenious parallel action snare mech and diecast hoops.

The snare wires always remain at full tension even in off position and cannot bounce back which gives a more consistent snare sound.

Premiers diecast hoops fitted top and bottom give better tunability and the drum stays in tune longer.

And diecast hoops give you perfect rim shots and can stay round much longer than traditional rolled steel hoops if you’re a hard hitter.

Brilliant Premier chromium plating, the same quality Rolls Royce used on their world-famous, highly-priced luxury vehicles owned by Marc Bolan, John Lennon, Keith Moon, and even her majesty the Queen.

It all adds up to the ultimate in snare drums.

Like many vintage snares from the 70s, it has some corrosion on the chrome, which does not affect its sound or functions, and should not spoil your playing pleasure.

I have adjusted my price down accordingly.

And if you want to buff or polish the lugs and hoops yourself, I am sure you can make this drum look fantastic compared to my photos.

It has the “hourglass figure” sexy shaped long-lugs, some of the more stylish lugs in the rock universe…!

3ply vintage Birch shells can really sing and ring too; with a musical brightness, that injects great energy into your music.
