Amati 50s; set of 5 Tribal percussion drums; New/old stock

Drum sizes are:

10 x 7 Tom on legs (Pre international size)

The 10, 13 & 14s have magnificent timbali sounds when tuned tightly or tribal tom sounds when tuned looser.

13 x 8  ”

14 x 7  ”

16 x 10  ”

16 x 10  ” (Tune them differently of course!!)

Except for the 14in, all drums are 3ply beech with internal reo hoops top and bottom.

The 14 is 6ply beech with no reo hoops.

For those of you who are not familiar with Beech, it’s use in drum manufacture, goes back to at least the 1950s when German & British drum companies used it with great success sonically and musically.

Sonor have been using Beech in many of their drum kit models since the 70s and its an awesome sounding timber with similar acoustics to Birch & Maple.

I am selling this as a set, so please don’t ask to separate.

This is a unique set of New Amati 50s vintage Tribal percussion drums I’ve never seen anywhere else in the last 50 years.

BTW, I’ve replaced the original 50s thinner, fragile calf heads that came on the 13, 14 & 2 x 16s when new, with slightly used thicker Remo coated heads because they are more user friendly and practical.

Ideal for stage use, busking or in a recording studio.

These are New old stock, 1950s Amatis. [DE 0396]

Made in the Czech Republic when it was still called Czechoslovakia.
