I’ve been passionately collecting drums for over 30 years, and it’s time to share the love.
I’m letting go of some amazing kits, snares, and other drum gear, so they can inspire and be enjoyed by fellow drummers.
Many pieces in my collection are incredibly rare—you might never see items like these for sale again.
This is your chance to own a slice of drumming history!
This is one of the very early Tama Superstars to hit Australia.
Shells are 4ply in Super Maple finish with reinforcement hoops just like the Ludwigs from the early 70s.
You’ll notice in my pics, I’ve suggested a few possible setups as an alternative to using all 4 concert toms every time.
And remember any of the concert toms can be converted into double headed toms by fitting lugs and hoops on their bottoms.
I have some spare Tama lugs & hoops available.
The 1978 Tama catalogue says,,,,
“Made of select and cured Rock Maple and Birch in a special “Heat Compression” mold.
And they’ve got a sound and volume not common to wood drums.”
Back in the early 70s drummers began experimenting with the sound of their toms by removing the bottom heads and so concert toms became available in drum shops.
The sound of these single headed drums when tuned well and miked appropriately was unbelievably exciting to experience.
Phil Collins “In the air tonight” was recorded on a large concert tom kit and achieved the most incredible sound.
Drum sizes are:
24 x 14 Bass Drum
13 x 9 Concert Tom
14 x 10 ”
15 x 12 ”
16 x 14 ”
18 x 16 Floor Tom
There are some minor scratches on some of the shells which is normal for a kit of this vintage.
Used, cleaned, and in very good condition. [DK 1269]
My price is just $1,450.
